Honors Night/Graduation

This is such a difficult post for me.  We have been preparing the last few weeks for the Grand Finale of Christopher's High School Career:  Graduation.  I am not ready for him to grow up and leave my nest, but I do realize that Keith and I have prepared him well to go off and find his way, not to mention that he is more than ready to move to the next phase of his life.

Honor Nights began our journey to Graduation, along with many parties and celebrations hosted by parents, school officials, etc.  Honors Night was packed full with tradition and pomp and circumstance.  A beautiful ceremony.  Christopher was recognized as a scholarship recipient for both Academic and Athletics from Springhill College.  He ended up with $90,000 in scholarship money.  We are so proud!!!!

Graduation was again a beautiful ceremony with 100% of his class graduating - with 98% going to a 4 year college.  This was a very special, smart and close knit class.  I cried and cried.  I can't believe it is over.  However, I am excited for what the future holds for Christopher - he has a bright one...

After Graduation, the parents sponsored a lock-in for all the graduating seniors.  It was a themed night (The Hunger Games) of competitions.  All of the kids had a great time and I got to share this amazing night with Christopher.  Games, Karoke, Food, Prizes and lots of fun with friends.  Christopher's team won 3rd place overall and he came home with cash and prizes.  He had a great time.

It has been a pleasure and an honor to raise this child and I know GOD has a great plan for his life.  He leaves May 23rd for Camp Champions, he is a counselor for the summer and will not return until late July (just enough time to prepare for his big move to college).  I am going to miss him!!!!
